Inspired by the work of Lucio Bubacco, Dennis Gerasimov began flameworking glass in 2012 and has since developed a practice that bridges tradition and innovation. Working with both soda lime and borosilicate glass, he embraces the unique character, color, and expressive potential of each material. His training includes study with Muranese masters Lucio Bubacco, Giorgio Bruno, and Igor Balbi, alongside American glass artists Loren Stump, Wesley Fleming, and Emilio Santini.
Dennis draws constant inspiration from floral forms, nature, and feminine beauty. His work focuses on wearable miniature glass and sculptural forms, with a particular passion for three-dimensional murrine, where layered imagery and depth emerge within the glass itself. Using techniques such as implosion, murrine construction, torch-blown vessels, and off-mandrel sculpting, he creates works that balance technical precision with organic elegance.
Continuously evolving, Dennis actively seeks collaborations with other lampworking artists, viewing shared process and exchange of techniques as an essential part of his creative growth. He also explores the integration of kiln-formed elements and cross-disciplinary approaches as opportunities arise, expanding the expressive possibilities of flameworked glass.
