Description
The classic blue and white of ancient Chinese pottery and English porcelain, in glass. At its heart is a chaos core: white and cobalt-blue lines run side by side, then bend and fold back on themselves until you can no longer tell where they began. Orderly and chaotic at once, it is a small mystery inside the glass. Three-dimensional murrine flowers spiral around it, each one built by hand from glass cane before being encased in clear glass. A murrine signature with my initials, “DVG”, is set among the flowers.
A large, very labor-intensive piece. One of a kind.
Diameter 53mm / 2.1″. Soft glass (104 COE). Display stand included.
The video shows a similar marble from the same blue and white series, not this exact piece. It gives a sense of the work that goes into each one.
