Description

The classic blue and white of ancient Chinese pottery and English porcelain, in glass. The core is a chaotic twist of white and cobalt-blue lines. Three-dimensional murrine flowers are arranged in a spiral around it, each one built by hand from glass cane before being encased in clear glass. A murrine signature with my initials, “DVG”, is set among the flowers.

A large, very labor-intensive piece. One of a kind.

The video shows a similar marble from the same blue and white series, not this exact piece. It gives a sense of the work that goes into each one.
